Bekko is the man in charge of the Z-Loan office- and at first glance he seems to be nonchalant, stingy about money, and overly passive. However, it is soon revealed that he is, in fact, a Ferryman- a title reserved for those in charge of ferrying those who have died into the 'next world'. Occasionally, however, he offers to let the dead 'take out a loan' on their lives, meaning that they would be brought back into the world as undead, but at an extremely high price. No, he doesn't want your firstborn or anything: he wants your money. Work for him, pay off your zombie loan, and there's a small chance that he'll be able to give you your life back.

But don't be too judgmental. He's got to answer to his higher ups too.
